Chapter 13 Bankruptcy is used by individuals who are looking to get out of debt and need a more structured plan to do so. When someone files for Chapter 13, he or she can usually continue living in their home and driving their car without having to worry about these items being repossessed--unless the person filing fails to comply with the conditions of the Chapter 13 agreement. A person who has filed for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy must agree to pay the debts they owe, or at least substantial portions of the debts, and in most cases, the creditors are expecting more than they would if the person filing had paid the debts previously.
